Community and Voluntary Sector Network
Who are CVSN?
We are a network of community and voluntary organisations working with the residents of Hammersmith & Fulham. The network was launched in July 2002 and is run by a Steering Committee drawn from members of the network.
What do we do?
We help local community and voluntary groups along with individual residents to have their say on the issues that matter to them and make a difference to their area.

How do we do this?
CVSN do this by:
- By bringing groups in the same neighbourhoods together to look at shared concerns, and helping them pool their skills, ideas and resources
- By linking groups working on similar issues through 'communities of interest'.
- By ensuring groups have the opportunity to make their voices heard at existing partnerships and decision-making bodies, such as the Local Strategic Partnership and its executive board, the Hammersmith & Fulham Borough Partnership, Local Public Service Board and other partnerships.
What is our Vision?
Our vision is for the community and voluntary sector and the community in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham to have:
- an effective and sustainable community network
- active involvement and a strong voice within the Hammersmith and Fulham Local Strategic Partnership, Borough Partnership, and other decision making bodies.
What is our Mission?
To strengthen the voice of community and voluntary groups (in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham) by enabling them to:
- Appoint their own representatives on local decision-making bodies - including the Borough Partnership
- Develop their own agenda items and proposals for these decision-making bodies
- Work together to tackle their own issues and concerns
- Learn from each other and from public sector and local businesses
