Below are some examples of recent courses run by CaVSA to give you a flavour of the type of support we offer.
Introduction to Commisioning. This courses offered the basics of the commissioning process, a method increasingly being used by local authorities including L.B. Hammersmith & Fulham to fund the voluntary & community sector.
Effective Fundraising - Level 1 This session will guide you through the process of effective fundraising including practical exercises. It will also give you an insight of what funders are looking for when approving funding applications. This is a practical session for those with limited experience of making funding applications.
Foundations for funding - Level 1. This session will look at the requirements that need to in place before making a funding application. This session will help groups to demonstrate that there is a need for their project and to provide evidence linked to research as well as looking at general organisational fitness. This session is designed to give individuals not experienced in making funding applications some basic essentials on ensuring the groundwork is laid for successful funding applications.

Proving the Need. This course helped groups to understand the need to justify their project and to provide evidence linked to research.
The essential policies and procedures. This course helped groups identify key points to include in their equal opportunities and health and safety policies and how to implement these policies in their organisations
Partnership Working - Level 1. This course is an introduction to partnership working and gives an overview of the main issues involved including, overcoming barriers, fundraising, good practice and benefits
What every Management Committee Member should know. These regular courses explore the roles and responsibilities of management Committee Members.
Management Committee Forum. This workshop will look at the purpose and roles of trustees will for this session focus on employment issues. There will be an opportunity for networking and exchange of good practice. This course is suitable for Serving Management Committee members or those that are interested in being a Management Committee member.
Budgeting and Record Keeping. This introcudtory level course shows the essentials of setting simple budhets and how to keep the necessary financial records.
Introduction to HR. This introductory course provides a general introduction to employment law, and key issues in human resources, including requirements for employers, important issues, getting support and expert advice
